Dear Steve and Greg,
I know you miss your Mom and Dad and are looking forward to when you will be able to see them again in the amazing future with the Lord. We have so much to celebrate, our good experiences of the past with Jack and Sharon, and our future experiences in the light and love and peace and joy that Jesus makes available to us.

You have been fortunate to have been invited into their home as beloved sons. Their legacy of love and faith will continue to impact your own lives and also the lives of many of the rest of us who had the opportunity to know and love them.

TE AMO!  --Words Jack often told his Susie....and words she painted on the side of their new home to surprise him as he drove up the driveway  from work. You I love!  And we are missing both of them until we can see them again, in a much better place. Then there will be no sorrow or pain or parting!
Dick and I and our family have good memories of our times with Jack and Sharon and their fine boys. We enjoyed working on projects together and relished the meals we shared and the fun we had.  We made several excursions together, such as when we met them at the Fremont Indian State Park and camped overnight.
I remember Jack's "very-satisfied-with-life" look and appreciate his kindness.  "Goodbye for awhile"


My memories of "Uncle Jack" are uniformly positive and uplifting.  I remember him as being calm and steady, hard working and consistent.  He had an inquisitive mind and was always interested in learning and expanding his knowledge and awareness of things in the world, especially regarding global economics and geopolitical affairs.  I always found him to be optimistic and good-humored, with a ready smile and a cheerful disposition.  He radiated a great love for God and for his family, and my life has been greatly enriched by knowing him.

My memories of Jack go back to the time of his marriage to Sharon.  We enjoyed visiting them in Colorado Springs, CO, Stephenville, TX, and then Penrose, CO as he worked with different fabric stores, then with Walmart and lastly with Ace Hardware and the B.L.M. in Canon City. We also enjoyed visits to their cabin near Wetmore, with its cooler climate and the chance for cousins to visit occasionally. Our family has lots of good memories of our visits with them over the years. 
Jack enjoyed reading and worked awhile at the library in Penrose, and also taught some classes on economics at the Jr. College in Pueblo.  He had a special interest in economics and would like to have taught college full-time.  He and Sharon shared a strong commitment to Christ and to living a Christian life. They faithfully attended local services at Wetmore and in Penrose and helped support local missionaries who taught as beginning pastors. They were generous in helping friends and neighbors and family.  
Both Jack and Sharon enjoyed gardening and sharing their bounty of berries and vegetables.  Sharon enjoyed canning and cooking them.  Jack bought tanks of water in town at Florence and watered their garden and fruit trees to keep them alive.  He and Sharon built a small attached greenhouse onto their home in Penrose. When visiting there, Sharon and Mary would spend time together at the house while Jack and I did something outside or at the cabin at Wetmore, or drove into Pueblo.  There we normally would stop at a store or two for items, and then enjoy a Chinese Buffet for lunch.  We enjoyed being together, and I will miss him.  We were good friends.


I'll always remember Uncle Jack as a kind, gentle soul who always looked for the good in everyone and everything and seemed to have an inner peace about him.  I know he missed Aunt Sharon immensely and was never quite the same after she passed on.  I only have good memories of time spent with Jack, Sharon, Steve & Greg at their homes in Colorado Springs, Penrose and Wetmore, and pray that he may rest in peace.
