Our Father Joe R. Guerrero suffered a heart attack in December 2018 and was committed to a convalescent home he was paralyzed from the left side and never recovered. Dad passed away July 15, 2019 early in the morning. Dad Joe R Guerrero served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Dad was a very hard working man he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a Boiler Maker for 32 years. Our dad provided food, shelter and clothing for all us 5 children (Paula Maria, Dora Elsa, Lily, Joe Jr., Sara, my mother was a stay at home wife and mother. My dad and mom (Rosa P. Jara de Guerrero) were married 55 years before she passed away 10 years ago. My dad and mom enjoyed going visiting family in El Paso and taking his two younger children to adventurous places like Disneyland, San Diego zoo just to name a few. My dad enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren he always enjoyed playing and made them feel loved and welcome to our home. After his retirement my Dad enjoyed going to the Santa Anita Racetrack and in his spare time he would worked outside of our home. We will miss our father at the end of his life that’s when he realized he enjoyed seeing us kids and grandkids as we visited him at convalescent home. We always seem to make him laugh and make him as comfortable during the visits. My both my sisters Lily and Sara were his health care advocates.
