Kayron Maxine Galongo, Kay, was born on September 1, 1933 to Wallace William Devers and Ruby Beatrice (Goodman) in Waynesboro, Tennessee. She was the second born of seven children: Katheryn, Sonny (Charles), Glenda Sue, Linda Lou, Brenda Gayle, and Jerry. They grew up in Tennessee and later moved to Detroit, Michigan.
Kay married John Dancy in 1954 – 1973, during which time they had six children together and moved to California in 1963. Kay married Michael Galongo in 1978 and they operated the Michael Galongo Board & Care Home in Ontario, CA for many years.
After Mike’s passing, she moved to Tennessee to help care for her mother. She lived there for 10 years before returning to California once again. Kay enjoyed spending a great deal of time at her favorite place by the Colorado River in Earp, California with her best friend and companion, her little Buddy.
Kay loved to make things for everyone, such as felt stockings and tree skirts; crochet shawls, scarves, bracelets, bookmarks; sewing stuffed animals and dolls. She wanted everyone to have everything! She was very compassionate and caring and loved keeping up with old and new friends and all her family.
She is preceded in death by her son, David Gordon Dancy, and Step-daughter Patricia; and survived by her sister, Glenda Sue McCann and brother, Jerry Devers; her five daughters: Linda Yost, Betty Darlene Ethridge, Karen Hoover, Susan McFayden and Barbara Dancy; Step-Children: John E. Dancy, Cheryl Blaylock, Michael, Ron, John and Jimmy Galongo; numerous grand-children and great-grand-children who all loved her dearly, as she loved each of them.
Kay was baptized on February 20, 2005 at Robertson Chapel Church, Savannah, TN. She loved the LORD and is resting in the precious arms of Jesus along with her loved ones awaiting our arrival.
