LaVerne Ford passed away on July 5, 2026, just four days before her 79th birthday. She was born on July 9, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Margaret Green and Alfred Green Sr. LaVerne moved to California in the 1970s and built a long and successful career in the Los Angeles area. She worked for Pacific Bell for 15 years before becoming a real estate broker, a profession she practiced for more than 30 years. She was also a proud graduate of the University of La Verne.
Outside of her professional life, LaVerne enjoyed traveling with her friends and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She will be remembered for the life she built, the people she helped throughout her career, and the many experiences she shared with her family and friends.
LaVerne is survived by her son, Mark Barnes, and her brother, Alfred Green. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Green and Alfred Green Sr.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
