

She was born in Fresno on March 14th 1958 to Melvin and Betty Shank. She was a straight A student through all her schooling in Fresno. She was a leader in her church youth group. She attended Pomona College for two years as a pre-med student. She transferred to Fresno Pacific College and changed her major to Contemporary Christian Ministries to follow a life of ministry to her Lord Jesus Christ. She married Don Davis in 1977 and began to counsel youth as a full-time minister of Kern County Youth for Christ, leading a Campus Life Club in McFarland and one in Bakersfield. After the birth of her two children, Laura and Brian, she left YFC and worked as a volunteer at her place of worship, the Church of the Living Savior in McFarland. In the 90’s she attended Fuller Seminary graduating with a Minister of Divinity degree while parenting her children through high school and working as a counselor to young women at the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center. She eventually became the Executive Director of BPC and served the organization for 27 years. During this time, she began to receive training to counsel patients at the county hospital as a Chaplain for the trauma, ER and ICU rooms. In 2017 God laid it on her heart that she would not live much longer and she purposed to retire, travel, and invest in family and the Chaplain ministry. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in early 2025.
She was predeceased by her mother Betty Shank, her father Melvin Shank and her mother-in-law Berkley Davis and her niece Megan Davis.
She leaves behind her father-in-law Jerry Davis, her husband Don Davis, her daughter Laura Alexander, her son-in-law Mark Alexander, and two grandchildren by Mark, Avery and Mason, her son Brian Davis, her daughter-in-law Megan Davis and her two grandchildren by Megan, Berkley and Chloe, her sister Lori Wenger, her brother-in-law John Wenger and their children Julie and Joel, her sister-in-law Anita Cook and Anita’s husband Randy and their children Sarah and Julie, her brother-in-law Jim Davis and Jim’s wife Denise and their children Zachary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Bronson and Shannon, her brother-in-law Tom Davis and Tom’s wife Liz and their children Daniel, Rebecca and Emily. She loved to travel, scuba dive, ski, be GiGi to her family and be obedient to her Lord.
