Mrs. Castellanos, thank you for your beautiful smile that always welcomed me. I will never forget calling the house and you were so excited to tell me that Lysset was pregnant with Little Eric. You will always be remembered as a woman of faith who was adored by her family.  I am grateful to have known you.

Recuerdo en nuestra adolescencia cuando cuando pasabas a la casa siempre con esa sonrisa y tu uniforme blanco siempre contenta y las oraciones que hacías por mi y mis hijos que tanto me fortalecian .D.E.P. junto al Rey de reyes .te veo cuando Dios lo decida. Lucy, gracias por tu cariño. You always made me feel so welcome in your home. You always offered to feed me when I would go visit la Dana. Everytime I called you would ask me, "vas a venir?" Even if Dana wasn't home I would enjoy sitting in your living room because you always had a funny story to say...or some chisme and you never held back...if you thought my novio was "feo" you would say it! Jajaja  

Siempre te recordaré como mi tía favorita que desde niño fuiste buena conmigo con esa ternura y buen humor que te caracterizaba. Lucy, first and foremost was a loving mother, a grandmother, a sister, a niece and a friend, but if you ask me…she was my mother-in-law, but not just any MiL, she was my foodie-in-crime. We dipped our hands into everything together. I would either cook it, grill it, go for a food run and believe or not I would also bake it for her. Even though my wife, her devoted daughter, would scold me for it at times since she wasn’t suppose to eat some of those types of foods. It didn’t matter, she would show her appreciation by telling me that I was “más bueno que el pan” an expression which means, sweeter than bread or as good as gold. Our favorite together were tacos and la michoacana. It didn’t matter where we were enjoying our food, restaurant or at home, us both were always the last ones together still eating away. It’s said that the best conversations happen over food. So, thank you mom for great conversations and your prayers for all of your family. We love you so much! We will miss you so much!

The best memories of you mama is how you prayed everyday for our family and how much you loved your grandchildren.  The smile you would get when Joshua and Vayda would run to you and your Eric who would sleep next to you.  How much am I going to miss seeing that because they loved you so much and Lysset your daughter loved you so much and me.

Llaverito or pamper were some of the names she gave me. Those words will forever put a smile on my face every time I hear them.

Daughter Dana: “Mom, I love you so.”
Mom: “I will always be well. And I will be healed”
Daughter: “I know mom. God hears you”

Mom up in heaven: “I love you so….I’m finally healed and I will wait for you daughter of mine”
