Luciana (Baby) Calleja Chua was born on October 31st, 1949 in Manila, Philippines. She is the fourth child of Lorenzo E. Calleja and Elizabeth C. Calleja. She has three sisters and five brothers. She attended grade school at Celedonio Salvador Elementary, High School at Manuel A. Roxas High, and College at La Concordia with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her first job was at Metropolitan Hospital in Manila where she met her husband, Oscar Chua. They got married on January 11th, 1977 in Manila, Philippines. They were blessed with a daughter, Cheryl. Baby, as the family would fondly call her, immigrated to the states in the early 1970s. She worked for 40+ years at the Grand Park Convalescent Hospital in Los Angeles. She also worked part-time at Garden Crest Convalescent Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Temple Park Convalescent Hospital. She retired in April 2020. Luciana had a series of health complications that caused her health to decline leading to her untimely passing on December 31st, 2025. She is survived by her husband, Oscar; daughter, Cheryl; sisters, Lourdes, Judith, and Lou; and brother, Jaime.
