

Margaret Louise Chatfield, 87, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Margaret was born on October 15, 1938, in Evansville, Minnesota, where she was raised in a rural farming community that shaped her strong work ethic, kindness, and deep appreciation for simple joys in life.
She pursued her education at North Park University in Chicago and the University of Minnesota, where she earned her teaching credentials. Margaret dedicated her career to education, teaching in the Covina Elementary School District until her retirement. She touched the lives of countless students with her patience, warmth, and unwavering commitment to helping children learn and grow.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Elton; her sons, Kent (wife Jacqueline), and Roger (wife Kerry); her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Salvador (wife Karina), Joshua (fiancé Lauren), Mitchell (wife Mercedes); and five beloved great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.
In her free time, Margaret enjoyed golfing and traveling the world, embracing new cultures and creating lasting memories along the way. She had a deep love for music and found great joy in playing the piano. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Margaret’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, both in her family and in the classroom. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared so freely.
A memorial service will be held on April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, located at 1515 S. Glendora Ave., Glendora, CA 91740.
