February 22, 1939 – April 28, 2021
Margaret Diaz, born on February 22, 1939, gained her angel wings on April 28, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends. She grew up in Irwindale, Calif., a city she loved, a community she continually gave back to, and a place she built and spent her life. She spent her time gardening, playing slots, being crafty and creative, and cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers, among many other things. She loved flowers and angels, and you could always find her wearing a knit sweater or top and her favorite gold hoop earrings. She was bold, honest, and stubborn (in the best way), and she was also the strongest, most kind-hearted, caring, selfless person anyone had ever known. She had the most infectious laugh and the most expressive facial expressions (which she wasn’t afraid to show), and if anyone tried to enter the kitchen while she was still cooking and attempt to sneak a bite, well, she’d kick them out until it was ready and she was done. Margaret was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a cousin, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, an aunt, and a friend. Her soul lives on in everyone who knew and will always love her.
“Sun shines; birds sing; love soars on Angel wings.”
