Maria Cecilia Alfaro

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of María Cecilia Alfaro, lovingly known as Mari. Our Lord opened the gates of heaven, and Mari was granted her angel wings in the early hours of Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Born on February 2, 1939, Mari's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion—particularly to her cherished husband, Manuel Alfaro. In her final days, she was surrounded by the warmth and comfort of her beloved family and friends. Mari was 85 years old at the time of her passing.

Her life was a beautiful journey, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. With her strength of character, unwavering discipline, and her gift for teaching tough love, Mari touched countless lives, offering valuable lessons and countless smiles. These memories will remain in the hearts and souls of those fortunate enough to know her. Beneath her firm exterior, Mari's kind heart brought joy and comfort to many, and she was a beloved source of support to those closest to her.

A true lover of nature, Mari found peace and fulfillment in her garden, where she spent countless hours tending to the flowers, plants, and trees she so cherished, often accompanied by her loyal dog, Canela, whom she adored.

Mari is survived by her devoted husband, Manuel, her two sons, Jorge and Manuel Antonio, her four grandchildren: Denise, Manuel A. Jr., Nathaniel, and Julian, and six great-grandchildren: Kalani, Rosita, Eva, Elizabeth, Raulito, and Audrey.

Mari’s memorial services will be held at Oakdale Mortuary & Memorial Park in Glendora. A visitation will take place on Monday, December 2nd, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by funeral services on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 1:00 PM. Additional details are provided below.

Mari’s family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have walked alongside her throughout her life and, especially, to those who provided love and comfort during her final days. Your kind, loving hearts will never be forgotten.
