Mariano Ambriz

Mariano Ambriz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away at the age of 82, in his home in Azusa, California on October 31st, 2022.

Mariano died surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Donations can be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mariano Ambriz was born on May 25th, 1940 in Cortijo Nuevo, Coeneo, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico, to his parents Teresa Arteaga Ambriz and Félix Ambriz.

On February 24th, 1962, Mariano married Elaine Villagomez, daughter of Apolinar Villagomez and Celia Arevalo Villagomez. Mariano immigrated to the US in 1962 and brought his wife Elaine and young son Hugo in 1963. In the following years, Mariano and Elaine grew their family to seven children in the city of Azusa, California.

Mariano worked as a truck driver for Gross Egg Ranch in So. California for nearly twenty years before retiring due to an injury in 1991. In his later years, Mariano enjoyed time with his family and friends, traveling with his wife on senior group trips to Canada, Utah and other various destinations. He enjoyed going to the cinema to see action/adventure and slapstick comedy movies.

Mariano is survived by his wife Elaine Ambriz, and their seven children; his son Hugo Ambriz and his wife Kristi Tisor Ambriz and their five children, Adam Kalin, Tessa Schaefer and her husband Nathan Schaefer, Danielle McMenamy, Abigail Kladifko and her husband Kyle Kladifko and Lee Robert Kalin, his son Luis Ambriz, his daughter, Marina Wolf and her husband Adam Wolf, his daughter, Alicia Acuña and her husband, Raudel Acuña, their two children Jake Anthony Acuña and Elaine Alyza Acuña, his daughter Elsa Dillman and her husband Brian Dillman, his daughter Olivia Herrick, and her daughters, Caitlin Herrick and Kelsey Herrick and his daughter Laura Krüg and her husband Brian Krüg and their three children, Norah Krüg, Wyatt Mariano Krüg and Jolene Karen Krüg. He is preceded in life by his daughter Rosario Ambriz.

The Rosary and Viewing will be held on Monday, November 28th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Oakdale Mortuary, in the Sunset Chapel, located at 1401 S. Grand Avenue, Glendora, CA 91740.

The Memorial Service, to be held on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 506 N. Soldano Avenue, Azusa, CA 91702.

Followed by the Graveside Service and Committal on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 at Oakdale Mortuary at 1401 S. Grand Avenue, Glendora, CA 91740.
