Martina Marie Martinez

August 3, 1964 – July 12, 2026

With profound sadness, but unwavering hope in Christ, we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend, Tina.

For more than 15 years, she courageously battled scleroderma. While the disease brought unimaginable pain and countless challenges, it never defined her. Those who knew her best knew that she rarely spoke of her suffering. She never sought sympathy or pity. Instead, she chose gratitude. Every morning was another gift from God, and every day was another opportunity to love, encourage, and serve those around her.

Our mom was the definition of strength. As a mother of four—Norma, Cesar, Priscilla, and Jason—she devoted her life to raising her children, often as a single parent. She worked tirelessly, sacrificed endlessly, and poured every ounce of herself into creating a better future for her family. Her love was steadfast, selfless, and unconditional.

She was immensely proud of her children and absolutely adored her grandchildren, Maya and Ty Martinez. Nothing brought her greater joy than watching the people she loved succeed. She celebrated every milestone, every victory, and every answered prayer as though it were her own. She genuinely lived to see others flourish, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and reminding them that they were capable of more than they believed.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. Through seasons of health and sickness, joy and hardship, her trust in God never wavered. She taught us what it means to persevere with grace, to pray without ceasing, and to praise God even in the midst of suffering. Her life was a beautiful testimony that faith is not the absence of trials but the confidence that God walks beside us through them.

If you knew our mom, you knew how much she loved being surrounded by people. She cherished family gatherings, birthday parties, weekend celebrations, and every opportunity to bring loved ones together. She loved music, loved to dance, and never let scleroderma keep her off the dance floor for long. Her laughter, her smile, and her joyful spirit filled every room she entered.

She was also an incredible encourager. Whether someone needed a listening ear, a word of wisdom, a prayer, a daily scripture, or simply someone to believe in them, she was there. She had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

More than anything, Mom taught us that life's circumstances do not define you. Character does. Faith does. Love does. She showed us that true strength is choosing gratitude when life is hard, loving others when you're hurting, and trusting God even when you don't understand His plan. She didn't just speak these truths—she lived them every single day, leaving behind an example that will continue to guide our family for generations to come.

Her final year on earth was filled with significant challenges, yet even then, gratitude remained her constant companion. She treasured every hospital visit with family by her side, every meal shared at Rose Garden, every devoted caregiver who cared for her, and every thoughtful phone call, message, visit, and prayer. She recognized each act of kindness as a blessing from God and never stopped expressing her appreciation.

While our hearts ache deeply in her absence, we rejoice knowing she is finally free. Free from pain. Free from disease. Whole again in the presence of her Savior, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.

Mom, thank you for showing us what courage looks like. Thank you for teaching us to work hard, love generously, encourage endlessly, and trust God through every season. Your legacy is not only found in the family you raised, but in the countless lives you touched with your kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Though we will miss you more than words can express, we find comfort in God's promise that this is not goodbye—it is simply "until we meet again."
