Uncle Mike,
I remember back in the days when you and uncle Ralph were working and you would both meet at my Lita’s house and one of you would leave your car parked there while the other one drove for that week. You both took turns driving your car on a weekly basis. 

My Lita, Jul, Queta and I would look forward to your daily visits after work when you stopped by for your car. The daily routine would be to run in the house for a quick visit and for a little snack that consisted of a cold glass of Jul’s homemade iced sun tea and a bean burrito or a glass of wine with cheese and crackers or some mixed nuts.  We sat and talked about everything!

Now I have those beautiful memories as you have been called “home” to be reunited once again with my Lita, grandfather, my mother, and the rest of your siblings and your Goddaughter,  my sister Tere.  You are another beautiful angel that we now have to watch over us.

This is not a “goodbye”, but a “we’ll see you again someday”! I love you uncle Mike ❤️

Mi Tio fue un Abuelito. Trataba a mis papas como sus hijos y mi hermano y yo como sus nietos. Era un gran hombre que amaba mucho a su familia. Siempre hacia todo para hacer a todos sentir amados, agusto, y tranquilos. Cuando platicaba con el, siempre me hacia reir y siempre estabamos feliz. Solo tengo recuerdos lleno de felicidad y amor. Y hoy que esta junto con Dios, yo se que nuestra familia tenemos un angel junto con nosotros. Siempre va ser my abuelito y siempre lo voy amar.

There are no words to describe my sorrow for your loss.  I have too many fond memories of you that I cherish a lot.
You were a loving grandfather to me and to my brother Oscar, and a father figure to my parents.  I will always miss you and you will be in our hearts forever.

Usted fue una persona muy tierna y féliz.

Usted fué como un padre para Arnulfo (Maky) y sus hermanos. Un abuelo cariñoso para nuestros hijos. Para mí en lo personal usted fué como un suegro, pues siempre me hizo sentir como una hija más, lo cual yo se lo agradezco de todo corazón.
 Muchas gracias por todos los lindos recuerdos que deja en nuestras vidas. 
Usted ha dejado un gran vacío en nuestras familias, pero aun cuando estamos tristes nos consuela que siempre tendremos un angelito más que nos cuidará desde el cielo. En la vida de toda persona es triste perder al ser querido.  Perder a Miguel  a sido una de las perdidas  más dolorosas en mi vida.  Miguel para mí fué como el Padre que nunca tuve.  El me dió su amor y cariño como a un hijo.  El se encuentra ahorita junto a Dios en el cielo, cuidandonos a todos  como un ángel.  Los recuerdos nos consuelan y el amor permanence para siempre. Descanse en paz. 



Me recuerda cuando estábamos jóvenes.  Él y su hermano Rafael siempre acompañando a su mamá.  Estaban muy entregados y unidos los tres.  Me recuerdo que siempre estábamos platicando en las reuniones de la iglesia con el Padre Barola.  Cuando teníamos que limpiar la iglesia siempre lo hacia con mucho gusto y mucha alegria.  Era muy entregado a Dios.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Miguel.  My deepest condolences to Ofelia, Lupita and the family.  I have many fond memories of Miguel helping Fr. Furber at Santa Martha's Church in Vernon.  Working the fiestas, Holy Name Society, posadas, Sunday memudo and bake sales in the Chamisal, etc.  Miguel had a great devotion to our Blessed Mother and the rosary.  On Mother's Day he helped with the pilgrimage and crowning of Mary.  It was beautiful.  I'm sure our Lord and Blessed Mother have welcomed him into their loving arms.  My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Tía Ofelia y Lupita, que Dios les de paz  y consuelo en sus corazones y las llene de fortaleza en estos momentos tan difíciles. 
 El amor, la paciencia y dedicación hacia su familia, así como seguir el camino de Dios y la Virgen con devoción, son entre muchas cosas las enseñanzas de vida que nos deja Don Miguel!! Les mando un fuerte abrazo. 

Lo que recuerdo de mi tío es que fue una  Gran persona , cuando estaba Niño y me mandaban de vacaciones a LA , nos hacia Nachos en el
Horno para ver películas , nos ponía la tienda de campar , no había cosa que le pidiéramos Lupita y yo porque siempre lo hacía de muy buena gana , sin enojarse , de Niño le ayudaba a hacer sus rosarios que el
hacia para regalar a gente que estaba en la cárcel , me enseño a ponerle un hilo a los
Mayates (insecto),  me gustaba mucho que nos llevara al
Golfito y a los Go karts era un lugar como un barco era de mis lugares favoritos , siempre recuerdo a mi tío en su carro Plymouth color café , por el me gusta comer pan blanco con queso , siempre que venía a Juárez le gustaba ir al mercado a comprar su queso , hay tantos recuerdos que tengo de él , pero el mejor siempre será que fue un gran hombre , un gran ser humano , gracias por todo Tio, ahora que estás con mi papá cuídenos  de arriba los 2 , los Amo y se les va extrañar siempre !!! 

Looking over the years of when I first met, Mr. Miguel Romo, was in the Legion of Mary from St. Joseph’s Parish.  He was very devoted to our Blessed Mother, Mary.  He appeared to be very humble quiet and a gentle soul.
I then met his wife, Ofelia and his daughter Lupita and they were all a close knitted family.   You could see his dedication to his family, as it should be, at mass at St. Joseph’s Parish or Queen of the Valley Chapel.
Not only was Mr. Romo dedicated to our Lady but also our Lord at Queen of the Valley, as a Eucharistic minister.  Fr. Eric and Carol could always count on his serving the Lord in this way.  
He will be missed but the memories of his dedication to our Lord and Mother Mary will always be remembered.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Miguel Romo.

I am so sorry for your loss. My mom told me of the passing of their dear friend Miguel and I just wanted to express my gratitude for the many years of friendship and all the prayers shared with my parents. What a blessing to have such dear friends. I am so thankful for that. I know they loved him and will miss him very much. My most heartfelt gratitude to you and my deepest condolences to the family.

Como miembros de la Legión de Maria, estuvimos 
unidos por treinta y cinco años. Encargados del arreglo y transporte de la Virgen.  Llevándola a tres diferentes parroquias y rezando  El Rosario en  El Día de las Madres.  
Siempre recordaremos a nuestro hermano, Miguel, sirviendo a Dios, como ministro de Eucaristía, en el hospital, Queen of the Valley.  También por 35 años. 
Hombre de oración con espiritualidad y alegría.  Enseñaba que en su corazón llevaba a Cristo.
Que descanse en paz.

We love ❤️ our wonderful brother so much.  He was an exceptional son and brother.  We have, and will always have those wonderful memories of him in our hearts♥️.  Even though we didn’t get to see him often,  because of whatever reasons he might have had.  It was never that we were not available.  Our God knows why we didn’t connect.  We did try. A la memoria de un gran ser humano: tuve la fortuna de que llegara a mi familia hace ya hace muchos años una persona que ilumino la vida de nosotros con su manera sencilla de ser un ser que siempre demostró amor hacia todos nosotros un amor inigualable hacia su esposa mi tía, y ni que decirlo hacia su hija mi prima Lupita siempre admire la unión que hubo entre ellos siempre en los momentos buenos y también en los difíciles, y que decir hacia mi madre y mi hijo eso siempre se lo agradeceré eternamente hasta donde se en
cuentre, así era mi tío Miguel y no habra alguien como el y solo decirle que le quiero y lo extrañaré, descansa en paz Tío Miguel. 

Long, long time ago, (@25 years) in a  far away land, (La Puente, CA.)there were 3 men; Miguel (the Brain and member of the Legion of Mary), Silverio (the muscle man and member of the church choir),  and Ruben (the truck driver also the deacon of the church). men of faith and devoted to Our Blessed Mother the Virgen Mary. Once a year @ Mother's Day,  these 3 men work very, very hard to construct a float to carry the statue of the Virgen in procession to 3 churches. In order to do that, they had to build a metal rack on the truck, and so, they went to a welders shop. Miguel, (the brain) show the welder the blue prints for the rack, and 3 or 4 days later, they went to fit the rack on to the truck. Well, there were a few bugs to be fix, and Miguel (the brain) told the welder how to do it. The welder kept trying and for some reason it just wouldn't fit, and the brain I mean Miguel kept telling him what to do. A few days later we went back and almost fit just a little adjustments here and there and the welder said to come back the next day. But the welder called the deacon away from the brain and the muscle man and beg him; Please don't bring the Master Altar Boy (El Monaguillo Mayor) again.

During my college years, I worked at St. Joseph’s Church rectory and I would see a lot of parishioners but I remember Miguel Romo because of his smile and kindness. 

Recently, I was told that he and his family prayed for me while I was working in South Korea.  During that year, living alone in a foreign country, my love for God was rekindled in a very special way.   Since then, I have continued on this beautiful, intimate  journey with God and I am deeply grateful for Miguel Romo and his family who prayed for me. 

Now it’s my turn to pray for your peaceful rest in God’s arms and your family’s well being during this time.

I was not born with a grandpa but you were the closest thing I had to it. I treasure memories of you picking me up, playing with me, teaching me things and overall patience. You were kind, hard working and a wonderful man. You lived a long beautiful enviable life. May you Rest In Peace I love you truly.

Uncle, Thank you for all the silent influences you taught me over the years, that having a Strong, Loving Faith in God, being a Loving, Loyal Family man, and a hard worker is really all we need in this life which you lead by example. We miss you very much. You, Tia Ofelia & Lupe have meant so much to Laura & I over the last forty years. 

You have been a mentor and a role model to us and our family. You have shown us how to love, how to have faith in God, how to love one another, how marriage and family is supposed to be. 

Thank you for serving our country. Our faith tells us your truly at peace and now serving God and our Lord Jesus Christ. We love you very much and you will be missed.

Memorias lindas que tengo de usted porque nunca lo vi enojado siempre atento y sonriendo . Además muy guapo y servicial cuando íbamos desde chicos a visitarlos nos hacía desayuno y nos acompañaba a los parques Disney, un ejemplo de padre y esposo de la mano de mi Tía Ofelia y de muy buen diente 😂 
Muy devoto y servicial en su iglesia muchas gracias Tío lo llevo en mi memoria siempre lo quiero y se que está en mejor lugar junto a Dios nuestro Señor . Lo quiero mucho

I could not have asked for a more perfect dad.  He was so supportive in all of my many activities.  My dad attended every game, meet, competition and recital.  He would give me his blessing everyday before he left for work.  During my college years, he would secretly put gas in my car.  When he retired and I was working, he would start my car every morning and then give me his blessing, before I would go to work.

My dad was so patient, allowing me to spread my wings on my school projects and then saying, “Why don’t you try it this way?”  He was always right, his way would have been easier and faster.  His patience allowed me to learn from his analytical way of thinking.

Family was always first with my dad.  He had been a smoker for over twenty years.  On the day they found out my mom was pregnant with me, my mom asked, “Do you want your child smelling all of this?” My dad put out his pipe and never picked it up again.  As a child, I remember being in the mall with my dad and always visiting this one particular store.  As we entered, the employee would ask, “Can I help you?” My dad would always answer, “I’m just here to smell the tobacco.”  When I started working and was able to afford gifts, I bought him a bag of tobacco to use as potpourri.  He placed it in his handkerchief drawer so they would smell of tobacco.                            

My dad was a man of few words but taught by examples.  He showed me how to be brave, to solve any problem, be responsible, hard working, to sing and to have fun.  I knew, that with my dad, I was always safe and unconditionally loved.

You will always be a part of me, in my heart.  You are my sunshine, my North Star, my Superman.

Entre muchas otras cosas importantes, siempre tendré presente la gran paciencia que tenía  Miguel conmigo.  Por ejemplo: cuando íbamos a Disneyland y yo no me quería subir a los juegos, me dejaba sentada en una banca y me decía, “No te levantes de aquí.”  En cuanto se iban a subir a alguno de los juegas mecánicos, yo me iba a las tiendas.  Cuando regresaban ya no me encontraban y tenían que ir a buscarme a las tiendas, pero nunca se enojaba conmigo.  
Siempre recordaré con cariño esas demostraciones de su ternura.
Esto es solo un ejemplo de otras muchas ocaciones similares.
Cuanta la leyenda que nuestro amor será eterno.
