Myra Surles, of Walnut, California, was born on January 16, 1943. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She departed from this world on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her intelligence shone brightly throughout her life's journey. She attended UCLA and was an exchange student in Spain before graduating from Cal Poly Pomona. As a young woman, she enjoyed traveling to Paris and Mexico. Her passion for languages inspired her to learn both Spanish and Chinese.
Her laughter was infectious, and she had a smile that lit up every room. She lived her life with a selflessness that touched the hearts of everyone she met, always putting her family first and ensuring their happiness above all else.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Myra had a deep love for the Los Angeles Angels, and she could often be found cheering enthusiastically for her team or calling her son to tell him all about it.
Myra is survived by her loving son, Robert Stone, her brother, Robert, her sisters, Debra and Bonita, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
While her departure leaves a void in our lives, we take comfort in knowing that her laughter and smile will live on in our memories forever. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave during her time on earth.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” Matthew 5:4
