Paul Howard Relph was born on March 24th, 1939, in Pasadena California and was a lifelong resident of Southern California. His Father and Mother moved from Nebraska to Monrovia California, where they lived out their lives. Paul had two Brothers. Bill and Tom; and two sisters, Virginia and JoAnne, all of which preceded him in passing.
Paul lived a full life. He served his country as a veteran paratrooper in the US Army, was a record holding track star at Monrovia High School, a skilled cabinet maker, a classic car enthusiast, loved to go camping, hiking, and fishing, and loved to build model airplanes.
Paul was a highly accomplished engineer for over 40 years and worked for Boeing where his team designed high-tech surveillance equipment during the Cold War. Projects he worked on included the U2 spy plane, the SR-71spy plane, and various satellites. If you go to the Smithsonian Aerospace museum in Washington DC, you can still see an exhibit featuring one of the cameras his team engineered, tested, and installed on the U2.
Paul Married his High School sweetheart, Sandra Lee Peters in 1962 after he was honorably discharged from the military. He is survived by his two sons, Steven Paul Relph (62) and his wife Laura, and Daniel Louis Relph (55), and his wife Linda, and granddaughter Danielle. He is also survived by his Grandson Justin, his wife Alexandra Relph, and his great-grandson Cody. Sadly, Sandra passed away in 2001.
Paul was an extremely intelligent, kind, generous, and selfless man who would always help anyone in need. But most importantly, Paul was bible believing born-again Christian and truly loved the lord – as did his entire family. While his passing is a sad day for those surviving him, it is also comforting to know that he is together again with his parents, his wife, and his brothers and sisters.
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
