Raul Alvarez Jr.
My Rauly was an amazing man. Not only was he a son, a brother, a cousin, a Nino and a best friend. He was the greatest and most loving supportive husband to myself and our two children Isaac and Zulema and our fur babies Jax and Opie. The greatest dad who was supportive, loving and made sure his babies had everything and anything they needed. He was their hero and continues to be.
Raul was fighting through his kidney illness going on for 11 years. Through that battle he still loved life. He was one of the most positive people you would have encountered. Every morning he would wake up and say “what a beautiful day to be alive” or “Thank God for another day.” He always woke up so cheerful and positive. He was a man who truly loved life. He even taught me how to love and live life. He lived it exactly how he wanted and enjoyed every minute of it.
If you knew my Rauly, you knew the love of music he had. He loved every type of music. You would hear him listen to metal, rock, rock en español, corridos, banda, rap, country, oldies, even his Juan Gabriel y bad bunny-his zulys favorite. He also enjoyed and dedicated his time playing his drums. Those Friday nights in the drum room he created playing away with his compadre Santiago and Best Friend Alex. The sound of him playing drums I loved since the age of 17.
Raul was also an adventurous soul, he was always up for anything. He planned adventures for our little family. Whether it was Santa Barbara, San Diego, Lake Arrowhead or the beach he made those adventures happen.
My Rauly was also known for his incredibly generous spirit and heart. He had a heart of gold. He would give without hesitation, always willing to help, share and make others feel loved. His kindness and warm heart touched so many people and it is no surprise that he was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He had a special way of bringing people together and making memories. Memories that will never be forgotten. His laughter, his love of music, his adventurous spirit and generous heart will live on the people he touched.
To me, he was more than my husband. He was and continues to be my true love, my partner, my best friend, my soulmate and my high school sweetheart. That can never be replaced. He was my teddy bear.
Above all he loved his family. He always said how much of a loving and supportive family he had. From his loving parents Raul y Lidia. To his siblings Daniel, Jannett, Eric and Cindy who he deeply loved with all his heart and would do anything for. We all had great times together and had enormous amounts of laughs. Laughs that we shared of him making fun of everyone else besides himself because in his eyes he was the coolest one out of all. Always cracking jokes. He made each and every gathering fun and memorable. Not only was he good to his family but, my family as well. He cared for my mother, my heavenly Father, and my sister and her son Amadeus. Amadeus was his best buddy who he absolutely loved and spoiled. They shared a beautiful bond. They would call each other “babe” because that’s what my nephew heard me call him. They were both always so excited to see each other when they did. That’s how much my Rauly was loved.
Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we are so blessed and truly grateful for every loving moment we shared with him, every memory, every laugh, every song, every adventure, any chance that we were around him was nothing but joy. We are blessed to have had him in our life. He will forever be in our daily life and in our hearts forever. He’s our angel. His life was a gift from God, his memory a treasure and his love will remain with us forever and ever. And when you think of him, think of his motto, the tattoo on his hands that read “Live It Up”
He will forever be missed but he will never be forgotten. My Beautiful Black Rose Raul. We love you, we miss you tremendously, you will never be forgotten and you will forever be in our hearts. Our guardian Angel. We love you. I love you my Mosho.
