He was the last one alive from his generation in our immediate family.
He had a great life and accomplish many things during his lifetime.
He grew up during the depression. Lived in a plywood box home they pulled through the desert while his father worked on the canal to bring water from the Colorado River to Los Angeles.
He entered World War II at 17 was at Bikini Atoll and tested the ships after each of 2 atom bombs were exploded. Then was in the Korean War and returned home after 8 years.
Graduated from USC and became a registered civil engineer. He designed and built roads and infrastructure in the County of Los Angeles for 30 years. Married to his high-school sweetheart Betty Lou Ott in 1951 and they were married until her death in 2019
We were blessed to be his kids as his love for us, his friends and family was obvious to everyone who knew him. He taught us how to live our dreams and not be held back by the naysayers but to find a way to accomplish your goals without harming others.
Truly loved his Country and fellow man.
One of the last of America's greatest generation.
They will be missed.
Survived by Son Jim, Daughter Karen and Granddaughter Kendra.
