Rosa was born on September 16, 1929 in Sonora Mexico to Pablo and Francisca Hernandez. She immigrated to the United States where she was married and had three children: Margarita, Willie, and Carlos.
Rosa was an amazing woman who worked hard to achieve the American dream. She had a desire to seek opportunity and she had an entrepreneurial spirit. She was feisty, loved music, coffee and God, and prioritized her family above all else. She was beautiful, both inside and out. Rosa was an overcomer who despite challenges in life, a language barrier, and being away from her family of origin, was truly blessed and accomplished more than most people dreamed of doing. She worked in agriculture, housekeeping, and in the plastics industry from which she retired after almost 30 years of service.
She had a generous spirit, as the homeless in her neighborhood always knew she would provide a warm meal and a smile. She never sugar coated her words, always letting one know exactly how she felt, yet no one would leave without hearing her say “Que Dios te bendiga.”
Rosa was a strong woman who tackled life and its challenges with grace, resilience, faith, and most of all, love. She was an incredible woman who leaves this legacy of strength and preseverance in each of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is leaving a void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her. She is already missed so much.
Rosa is survived by her three children Margarita, Willie, and Carlos, her eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on February 26th, 2019 from 5:15pm-9pm. A service and burial will be on February 27th, 2019 at 11am. Both will be at Oakdale Cemetery Chapel in Glendora, CA.
