
was born in La Place, IL on November 18, 1921, the youngest of five children
of Ira Miller Hoover and Letta Naomi Bahney Hoover and grew up in the
vicinity of Plattsburg, MO. She spent most of her adult life in Pasadena,
CA and worked for TWA and for the Federal Government in the courts of Los
Angeles County. Her interests included music, travel, her collections and
her extended family of nephews and nieces and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Akey R. Smith, and
her four siblings and their spouses: Wanda Hoover King and Rufus B. King,
Ira Milton Hoover and Lucile Ullery Hoover, Mary E. Hoover Shepherd and Ray
Shepherd, and Samuel Glenn Hoover and Ruth Stump Hoover; also one nephew
John J. King, one great nephew, Burt D. Kitzel, and spouses of three nephews
and nieces.
She is survived by 12 nephews and nieces and their families: Rufus B King,
Karen King Keim, Daryl King, Beth Hoover Baile, I. Mark Hoover, Glee Hoover
Kracl, David R. Shepherd, Marylin Shepherd Warner, Sandra Hoover Kitzel,
Stanley G. Hoover, George D. Hoover, David S. Hoover and foster niece Sandra
Grinstead Belcher. The extended family includes 25 great nephews and nieces
and their spouses, and numerous great-great nephews and nieces.
A family memorial service and interment will be held at the Church of the
Brethren cemetery in Plattsburg, MO at a later date.
