To Family and friends:

Don’t think of my mother as gone away. Her journey has just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one.

 Think of my mother as resting away from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days & years.

Think how my mother must be wishing that we could know today 

how nothing but our sadness 

can indeed pass away.

I think of my mother as living in the hearts of those she’s touched, for nothing loved is ever lost 

and she will be forever loved.

Today , I could shed tears that she is gone, Or smile because she lived long.  (Exception of dementia) 

I may have been empty-hearted because I could not see her, Or now be full of love, because love was shared.

 On the other hand, I could of turn my back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.     

 Yet, could I go on?

Just to remember 

that she is gone?

 No! 

Today , I cherish the

memory’s of my mother 

and let her love live on.

I remember my Nina always cooking for all of us pancakes in the morning, asking Eddie to play her favorite songs, she was a very hard worker and could fix anything better than any man! I picked her to be my Nina because of how she was she was a wonderful woman.i will truly miss her.may she rest in our father's arms

8/17/1993 - Mom was surprised whenI stopped by.  When your young you can just get up & go- the good ol days…

4/4/1993 - My daughter was born a couple of months before & my parents came down to see their new granddaughter Raquel Cheyenne Garcia.

3/27/1993 - My mom’s 50th birthday.  We went to El Paso w/Aunt Maria.  Also there Aunt Elva & Yolanda.

5/11/2006 - Raquel (13) with grandma @ the 4 Corners National Monument. They are currently standing in - Arizona, Utah, Colorado & New Mexico.

3/11/2002 - I was in Las Vegas in a baseball tournament.  My mom stayed up all night playing the nickel slot machines.  There was a fire alarm that night & I couldn’t find her till I went to the gambling floor & she was there playing &  hadn’t been in her room all night.  😂

5/27/1996 - On this day my Aunt Maria was in town & both of these ladies can cook!  Who hasn’t eaten @ my mom’s house?  Food was always being served, fresh & ready!!!

11/25/1995 - my parents visiting me in Albuquerque, NM.  Funny thing my dad when going home told me he was in Las Vegas which was 11+ hours away & I asked which way did you go dad?  He said north, oh I said.  You are in Las Vegas, NM 😂 my dad was funny @ times…

5/27/1999 - Ryan & Raquel off school being hugged by their grandma Socorro.  

7/6/2003 - stopping by my moms house with family. Since leaving to NM in 1992, I’ve made 35 trips back home.  Last visit was in 2019.  Now I will be visiting her with dad as they now will be together side by side @ the cemetery. 🪦 

July 1996 - Monica & Edgar wedding. My mom & dad were very happy!  My dad was off his dialysis @ this time & was gone a few weeks later.  He got off his meds to be @ my sister wedding (to be there both physically & mentally) true champ! Still miss you dad.

8/26/1989 - Mark’s wedding was being held here. Love Aunt Elva’s hair, Uncle Danny to the right then my mom & on the far right my wife of 34 years Joanne 💕 

Once again my mom would just show up.  Here she is in Durango, CO.  My wife Joanne, son Ryan,  playing in the college orchestra.  My mom was fearless in driving - she would just get up & go & call me a few miles out.  🤦‍♂️ 

3/12/2006 - It was mom’s turn for a family picture.  Eddie 42, Richie 40, Mark 39, Monica 35.  Mom was 63. 💗 

10/10/93 - Eddie, Vincent & mom stopping by in Albuquerque, NM.  Ryan on Rich’s schoulder.  Note;  Eddie in his few visits to NM, he would always bring Vincent. 

5/27/90 - Moms kitchen. 1st year being married & never ate @ home, just would drive by cuz food was always ready! 🤤

   Socorro  Garcia family; Death leaves a heart ache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
We share comfort in knowing that 
 my Niña, and comadre is no longer in discomfort . We send thoughts of sympathy and support to the family, your uncle .

      Socorro Martinez Garcia, will still live in our hearts and minds as she relocates to a place without pain and suffering and reunites with family members that left  before us. She was a wonderful and beautiful woman, but most of all a tough lady I will miss her, La Chaparrita Consentida. 

I heard from my cousin Yolanda, that Eddie will be laid to rest with our mother 🙏. Richie
