Sue, as she was affectionately known, was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 5th, 1947, to Walter and Marie Menegatti. Raised in West Covina, Sue was a shy little girl, so it was a wonderful blessing to grow up in a neighborhood surrounded by many of her cousins. Her cousin Judith was often her protector, leading the way for her on Halloween adventures and Easter egg hunts.
Sue met the love of her life, Dennis, in high school, and they married upon graduation. Truly devoted to each other, they spent nine years in Charter Oak raising their children before moving to Upland. It was always their desire to build a custom home. After 13 years in Upland, they found the perfect location in Alta Loma, where they built their dream house and lived happily for 38 years.
Sue always volunteered in her children’s activities; from baseball to drill team, she could always be found working behind the scenes. Professionally, she worked as a warranty clerk for Porsche for several years before becoming the bookkeeper for the family construction business. Later in life, she and Dennis led a company together, which required her to speak at large functions—quite a feat for a naturally shy lady.
Sue’s greatest joys were her children, and she was never shy about sharing her love and pride for them, as well as for her grandchildren. She loved hosting every family event, holiday, and party, keeping an open door for anyone at any hour. She also enjoyed planning cruises with family and friends, bowling for years in a local league, and riding along in the golf cart while Dennis played 18 holes. Let’s not forget the many motorcycle adventures, too.
Sue passed away on a Sunday after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Watching someone you love slowly disappear to this cruel disease is a heartbreak we wouldn’t wish on anyone. Although Alzheimer’s took so much from her, it could never take away the love she gave, the family she cherished, or the beautiful memories she created long before her illness. We are deeply grateful she is finally at peace. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love for her family, and the joy she brought into our lives. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie Menegatti, and a son, Michael Gene Seymour. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Seymour; her sister, Lucille Petroskey; her children, Lisa (Phil) Kusick and Ron (Terri) Seymour; as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 9am, Oakdale Mortuary in Glendora in the OMC Chapel.
Reception to follow at the home of Ron and Terri Seymour.
