I just found out today that Mama Cooper passed away, I was shocked! I have so many wonderful memories through my childhood and adult life. Mother may heart is so broken, especially when I saw you passed on my birthday.  I will always love you and I miss you so much. Rest in Power Mother , you will forever live in my heart. 

Yolanda, Kenny, Kevin and Cooper Family ~ we will always cherish loving  memories of beautiful Aunt Vess...she would keep in touch with us all here on the East coast talking for hours with Darren and Mom Carolyn. If the home phone battery went out,  would switch to the cell phones remembering the good ol’ days ☺️. We truly miss her and she is forever in our hearts. Love you all. May she rest in heavenly peace. 🙏🏾

Sister Cooper was my singing buddy when I sang in the Senior Choir.  We sat next to each other for many years keeping each other on part.  I have very fond memories of Vivian.  She would call me every so often, even after I had left St. Stephens.  She was a wonderful woman.  My sincerece condolences to her family.

I am sorry for your loss, Family. I am blessed to have known Vivian.  I literally ran into her late husband Frank as he sat on a bench in K- mart in Newport News, VA, as he waited while Vivian shopped. He was wearing a Bulldog cap. I am a Bulldog, and I asked why he didn't come to alumni meetings. He explained he lived in California, but was from Orangeburg, SC, my hometown! He asked if I knew a certain lady there, and lo and behold, it was my aunt, his classmate. What a small world. Vivian came out, we became friends, and I visited every time they came to the Peninsula.  God rest her beautiful soul.

I was  sorry to hear  of the passing of your mom.   In  my earlier  years  I heard my  late father speak  fondly of  his  female  cousins that lived next door to him.    I pray that  God will strengthen you as you go through this phase of life.

I sang in the senior choir with Sister Cooper for 3 years.  I met her after I joined the senior choir in 2017.   I miss her solo that she used to sing.  I loved her stories that she would tell me about Mahalia Jackson.  Sister Cooper was funny.  She is sorely missed.  Heaven has another beautiful singer in their heavenly choir.  Rest easy my friend.  Blessings.  Prayers for the family.

It has been such a Blessing to have known her and calling her "Ma Viv".   You and Brother Cooper (Dad) both were so welcoming to me when I first came to St. Stephen.  We went on several trips to Mission's Conferences and you were always a Joy and so Enthusiastic for Missions.  I just want to say to the Family, she was truly Loved and will be missed by all of us who knew her.

Dear Yolanda, Kenny, Kevin Family and Friends:				

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our loved one - Cousin Vivian, aka “Vess.” Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you cope with her loss and your feelings of grief. 

Cousin Vivian was a true inspiration to all that knew and loved her.  Her passion for family was contagious and truly remarkable.

Cousin Vess, like myself, had a strong love for family. I recall her and most of you always visiting your aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whenever you came to Virginia.  Yorktown, specifically Dandy, was home!  I remember, with fondness, the many “back in the day” stories shared with my Mom and Dad when they were alive, and all of the jokes, laughter, and loud fun we shared.  

Death leaves a hurt that no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.  The Bible says that “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heat,” and “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” I know she is singing in the Heavenly Choir with the angels!  It is my hope that God will fill you with joy and peace as you trust in HIM, and that the special memories you hold dear will be a source of pride and strength for days to come.
