

William Stacey Berry, Age 78 of La Verne, CA entered his eternal home in Heaven on June 25, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1947, in Alhambra, CA. Stacey was one of six children in the family of Jesse and Louise Berry. Stacey spent his younger years growing up in El Monte, CA. In 1961 the Berry Family moved to Yucaipa, CA. Stacey began his freshman year at Yucaipa High School and graduated with the Class of 1965.
After graduation, Stacey joined the U S Army and served from 1965 to 1968. He was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Div. in South Korea, where he maintained the border at the 38th Parallel. He attained the rank of Sergeant and returned to United States and spent the remainder of his tour of duty with the 1st Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas. Stacey was proud to have served his Country.
Upon returning home to Yucaipa, Stacey went to work for The Broadway department store in San Bernardino. There is where he met first wife Marian and they tied the knot in 1969. They were married for 21 years.
Stacey began working in the tire business and eventually became co-owner of a mobile truck tire fleet service. After spending many years in the tire industry, Stacey attended Cal Poly in Pomona and earned a certificate as a Certified Arborist. This led him to a new occupation with the City of Upland, where he remained until retirement.
In 1994 Stacey began what he called his “Second Life” with his new bride Lucy. Their favorite past time was traveling around the country. Together they attended Christ Community Church in West Covina, where they served as Sunday School teachers in Youth Ministry. Stacey and Lucy also served in The Azusa Released Time Christian Education at Dalton School in Azusa, which is a Christian Ministry in the public school. They taught 4th and 5th grade from 2014 to 2020.
Stacey was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Louise Berry, his older brother Don, brother-in-law George Bowman, his first wife, Marian, and his second wife, Lucy. He is survived by his son John Berry and granddaughter Madisenne Berry and grandson Gavin Berry, all from La Verne, CA. Also, sisters Judy Bowman of Missoula, MT and Milly Smith of Saint Ignatius, MT. Brothers Art Berry of Yucaipa, CA and Paul Berry of Calimesa, CA. Sister-in-Law Rosemarie Berry (Don) of Berryville, Arkansas. Stacey was loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
