Dear Sally and Mark: remember me Karen Ryerson, your dad wanted me to be a playmate for Sally I was in his 4th grade 5th grade combo class at Valencia grade school in Covina in 1962...Sally do you remember my mom made matching outfits for us to go to Disneyland? I have no pics if you do would you send them to me..I loved your long hair and all your barbie stuff...your dad was so special ..I have a pic of me and your dad dancing at Mark's wedding..my mom passed in Jan.2020..don't know why I thought of you all but I did...thinking of how special your dad was...all my condolences..saw your mom in 1980 when I went to visit her with my baby son's...

     Bill Hasson was a dear friend.  Our friendship began on New Year's Day, 1989 when he and his wife, Mickey, welcomed our family to the neighborhood.  They were concerned that we might not have water or electricity yet since we arrived from Maryland on a holiday.  We assured them that we did , but their concern for us that day began a wonderful friendship. 
     One of Bill's strengths was his utmost patience. It showed in how he treated everybody, but especially in how he taught the students in his classes. I learned a lot about teaching from him. He really had a special gift.
     Even after we moved away from Shady Glen Drive, Bill kept in touch with us.   We loved his phone calls which  were full of his positive attitude,  his genuine concern for how we and our kids were doing, and his loving encouragement.
     We are all going to miss him.
