He was born on November 19, 1931, in Los Angeles, California to the late Joseph C. Burns and the late Elsie B. McCumber-Burns.
Bob was a Registered Pharmacist by trade, causing him to find his beloved wife, Lylyan, a nursing student in the same hospital where he was an intern. They were a perfect balance for each other, and built a family they adored. They took yearly vacations together even into adulthood, with St. Augustine and the Smokey Mountains being their favorite spots. Later, Bob and Lyl traveled all over Europe, Costa Rica, Morroco, Russia, and more…
And when they were not traveling, everyone knew Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching his beloved University of Florida “Gators” football team.
He will forever be remembered as a hardworking man of gentleness and integrity.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Burns and Elsie B. McCumber-Burns; his brother, Richard L. Burns; and his great-grandson, Kaleb Rabun.
He is survived by his wife Lylyan L.Wynn-Burns; son Robert L. Burns (Kerry), daughter Barbara L. Burns-Haskell, son Richard S. Burns (John) and daughter Lisa R. Burns-Bostwick (Will); grandchildren, Brenden R. Burns (Rebekah), Lauren A. Haskell (Todd), Christopher D. Haskell, and Blair T.
