Althea was born July 8, 1963 in Grand Coulee, Washington to Ranae Thomas and Al Garry and passed away December 23, 2016 in Tomball, Texas. She was raised in Nespelem and attended school at Nespelem and Grand Coulee Jr. High. She married John Hall Sr. and had four children, John Jr., Phillip, Charles and Rhonda. After a divorce from John, she met Charles (Brown) Rider. They married and lived in Tacoma. She enjoyed being a member of the Grand Coulee Eagles, spending time with family and watching movies, traveling to different places and meeting new people. Althea was survived by her children, John Jr., Phillip, Charles, and Rhonda and her grandchildren. One brother, Randy Thomas and one sister, Ellen Marie Thomas.
