

Donagene Williams (64) died surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday evening, May 7th, 2014 in Wenatchee, Washington’s Central Washington Hospital. Donagene was born December 28, 1949 into the Nespelem, Washington home of Elijah & Annie Weipah-Williams.
A faithful member of the Catholic Church and Seven Drums, she was proud of her heritage as a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes. She loved participating in Pow-wows attending local sporting events and especially spending time with her honorary grandkids (great-nephews and nieces). Donagene had been previously employed as a clerical worker with the tribal Public Defender’s Office.
Survived by her brother: Leroy Williams of Nespelem, Washington; nephews & nieces: Deidre Williams, Flodell Williams, Vance Cleveland, Walter Williams, Mylan Williams, Eli Williams, Leon Williams, Steve Williams and Clarissa Cawston as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews; Donagene is predeceased by both of her parents and siblings: Judith Wetan, Jim Williams and Lorraine Williams.
Donagene’s traditional dressing was held at 10:00am on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee. A wake was held from 7:00pm on Thursday, May 08, 2014 at the Nespelem Community Center, with a sunrise burial on Friday, May 9th, 2014 in Chief Joseph Cemetery.
