

Elltion “Ella” Harrell,(89) Born April 22, 1922 in Colfax, Louisiana to Albert Harvey and Annie Hadnot, Ella passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Grand Coulee, Washington. Following her graduation from high school, 18 year old Ella Harvey began wedded life together to Landy Harrell in Mason City (now Coulee Dam, WA) Community Church on February 1, 1941. Ella’s greatest joy was raising and caring for her family, who all have fond memories of the wonderful fragrances and meals which flowed from her kitchen. She also enjoyed fishing and sewing for her children. Preceded in death by her beloved Landy after 62 years in 2003; siblings: Israel Harvey, Jimmy Harvey, Albert Harvey and Elnora Turner; Ella’s legacy lives on through their children: Lucinda Allen, Melvin Harrell Sr., Nolan Harrell, Vera Benton, Landy Harrell Jr., Carolyn Adams, Alma Harrell, Diane Harrell and Mary Harrell; grandchildren: Gary Harrell-Franklin, Damon Harrell (Kym), Melvin Harrell Jr. (Lisa), Nathon Harrell, Zack Harrell (Brandi), Henerica Harrell-Hand (Ryan), Landy Mendosa, Elliton Harrell, Gloria Sanders and Marissa Tucker; Numerous great-grandchildren; sister: Ollie Thompson; numerous nephews and nieces; her dearest friend: June Krebs and long time family friend: Marybeth Frank. A celebration of Ella’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, Washington, with burial to follow at Spring Canyon Cemetery. Her family requests that friends make donations in Ella’s memory to: National Kidney Foundation of Oregon and Washington, 465 NE 181st Avenue, Suite 257 Portland, OR 97230.
