Lois was born September 18, 1925 in Sacramento, CA to Orie and Irene Heater. She lived most of her formative years in Thompson Falls, MT amid the huckleberries. She graduated from Thompson Falls High School in 1943. From there she attended Montana State University and Eastern Washington State College each for one year. While at Eastern she met Maurice Geib, who she married on June 9, 1946. They were married t for sixty two years until his death in 2008.
Lois loved adventure and was a bit of a wanderlust. There was not a time when she was not thinking of her next adventure. Her adventures took her to China, Europe, Australia. As well as many trips to explore the United States. She really loved to see, explore, and learn about the world.
Her interests also included reading (loving historical fiction), gardening, and preparing herself for a swim across Lake Roosevelt. Her summers were consumed with swimming, canning, weeding, and enjoying time with her family. Her life at Lake Roosevelt was a staple for her family and created many memories including late night skinny dipping and the ever popular “Herman Pocket Gopher,” stories.
She was an active member of her church and truly loved her time with her friends. Those relationships allowed her a life filled with joy and love. She also was a member of Eastern Star, a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, and apparently a bowler. Through all these experiences she was able to share her joy of learning.
