

Lucy A. Stanczak (68) born November 10, 1945 in Nespelem, Washington to Chester & Cecelia Covington-Clark Sr., died November 13, 2013 surrounded by family in Spokane, Washington. On June 10, 1966 Lucy married Lyle Jack "Whitey" Stanczak Sr. in California. Everyone knew Lucy loved her Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in which she was intimately invilved in all aspects of church ministry, particularly the pilgrimages. Aside from her church activities Lucy worked as a van driver, electrician and grew trees at the tribal greenhouse. Lucy was a true outdoors-woman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, but her greatest passion was always spending time with her family. Preceded in death by her beloved husband:"Whitey" Stanczak Sr.; Darlene M. Ferguson, Jaques Benson-Ellenwood, parents: John "Baptise" Boyd & Chester Cecelia Covington-Clark Sr. and her grandson: Shane Matthew Stanczak; her legacy proudly lives on through her sons: Richard Stanczak (Cherokee), David Stanczak and Lyle "Sparky" Stanczak; grandchildren: Denise Ellenwood (Benjamin), Danny Jackson, Derick Stanczak and Jessica Stanczak; great-grandchildren: Akiah Ellenwood and Mylia Geroge-Jackson and sisters: Angel Clark-Hall and Carol Clark. Lucy's rosary and wake was held 7:00pm, Friday, November 15, 2013 at Nespelem Community Center in Nespelem, Washington with funeral Mass at 10:00am, Saturday, November 16, 2013. Cremation followed her services. Her family requests that people make donations in Lucy's name to the Pilgrimage / Cursillo c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Mission, PO Box 70, Nespelem, Washington 99155.
