

SOCULA, Randolph W. “Randy” (47) Surrounded by his family, Randy moved on to be with his ancestors Wednesday morning August 22, 2012 from Spokane, Washington. Born into the Grand Coulee, Washington home of Maurice W. and Helen (Nelson) Socula on November 6, 1964, Randy was a proud member of the Colville Confederated Tribes. A lifelong resident of the Grand Coulee area, Randy was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church and graduated from Lake Roosevelt High School where he was a standout member of their baseball team. Though he always loved to see the Seattle Seahawks win, the greatest day of his Randy’s life occurred in Grand Coulee, Washington on April 5, 2008 when he married Debbie Williams. A wildlands firefighter, Randy enjoyed spending time in the out of doors fishing and hunting as well as spending time with his many friends at the E.C.B. & G. A devoted family man Randy’s greatest joy and love was spending time with his kids and grandkids, both those related by blood and those related by choice, whether picnicking, camping or just relaxing around the house.
Predeceased by grandparents: Jim Wiley, Matilda Bearcub, C.V. “Moot” and Bertha Nelson; a niece and a nephew; Randy’s legacy lives on through his beloved bride: Debbie Socula; grandmother: Sylvia Nelson; father: Maurice Socula; mother: Helen McClain; daughter: Jessica Sumner; grandchildren: Jazmine Sumner, Jayden Wayne and Jace Steven; brothers: Dion Socula and Donovan Sovula; sisters: Alecia Barcklay, Heather Day (Bobby) and Fawn Palmer (Jeff); uncles: Patrick Nelson, Adam Bearcub and Leroy “Sam” Bearcub; aunts: Berta Cobell, Carmen Holt (Arnie), Marietta Nelson, Charlene Bearcub, Teresa Ellisoff (Jeff), Minerva Bearcub and Delores McNevins; and numerous nephews and nieces. A 7:00pm recitation of the Rosary will take place for Randy at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Grand Coulee, Washington on Friday, August 24, 2012 with Mass to be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 25, 2012 with rite of Christian burial to follow at Grand Coulee’s Spring Canyon Cemetery.
