Vaughn Ray Yellowwolf Sr. (69) Was called home to the Creator on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Grand Coulee, WA. Born June 1, 1949 to Lester Abraham Yellowwolf & Mary Lou Joseph in Nespelem, Washington, Vaughn served in the US Army from 1969 to 1973, including deployment to Viet Nam. During his enlistment, Vaughn earned the US Army’s “Marksmanship” medal and the “National Defense” Medal. A proud member of the Colville Confederated Tribes, Vaughn belonged to the Catholic Church, Seven Drums and American Legion Post 144. He loved the out-of-doors – hunting, summer fishing & Ice fishing in the winter, participating in and coaching boxing, Tai Kwan Do – “He Loved watching Bruce Lee!” and of course his cats.
Predeceased by both parents; sister: Vivian Yellowwolf, brothers: Jose Nino & Reginald Jabeth and grandchild: Ashley Welcher; Vaughn’s legacy lives on through his wife: Marylou Yellowolf; children: Vaughn Yellowwolf Jr. (Ciciley), Kristina Yellowwolf, Roger Yellowwolf (Chelsea), Mary Lou Yellowwolf, Rona Yellowwolf, Glen Ray Yellowwolf and Vonnie Yellowwolf; grandchildren: Morgan Yellowwolf, Vance Whitefoot, Joseph Whitefoot, Nyla Whitefoot, Jarvis Yellowwolf, Brandon Yellowwolf, Christina Yellowwolf, Michael Yellowwolf, Mason Yellowwolf, Ethan Yellowwolf, Trait Yellowwolf, Chastity Yellowwolf, Caitlynn Yellowwolf, Evelyn Yellowwolf, Logan Vanriper, Amber Welcher, Jonathan Andrasek and Aspen Linenberger; great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Whitefoot, Dakota Whitefoot, Greyson Whitefoot, Kameera Whitefoot, Bella Robb, Kyler Birzer, Kaeden Linenberger, Justin Yellowwolf, Valyssa Yellowwolf and Leonard Yellowwolf; brother: lester Yellowwolf Jr. and sisters: Sharleen Yellowwolf-Fryberg (Billy), Stacy Coronado and Mark Staggs.
Vaughn was laid to rest in Chief Joseph Cemetery, Nespelem, Washington.
