Born Friday, August 17th, 1951 in Nespelem, Washington to Wesley O. Sr. & Barbara M. Quill-Seyler, Wes graduated from Chilocco Indian School of Kay County, Oklahoma in 1971.
Wesley O Seyler Jr. served his country with the United States Air Force from October of 1975 to August 30, 1977, when he transferred to the Air National Guard, serving with the “105th Tactical Air Squadron”, aka: “The Big Willy”; retiring when his squadron was disbanded in 1995.
Wes proudly worked for his fellow Colville Confederated Tribal members for thirty-five years, (twenty years with Tribal Public Works and then retiring after fifteen years as an officer with TOSHA – “Tribal Occupational Safety & Health Administration”).
Wes’ life was forever transformed for the good on Saturday, September 14, 1985 when he married Chris Harper in Inchelium, Washington.
A member of the Catholic Church, Wes enjoyed bowling, hunting fishing, camping, going to the casino and road trips with Chris. His greatest enjoyment came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, all of whom enjoyed paying rapt attention to Wes’ seemingly endless catalog of stories.
Wes’ proud legacy lives on through his loving wife of thirty-seven years: Chris Seyler; children: Robert Seyler (Tiffany) and Kenneth Huntzinger; grandchildren: Alexandra, Kinsey, Daniel and Kaitlyn; siblings: Kenneth Bourgeau, Joleen Seyler, Bob Marchand, Raymond Carson, “Kit” Carson and Ron Carson; as well as innumerable nieces, nephews and cousins.
