Albert Harlan Walker, 86, of Ricker Avenue, Greeneville, passed away peacefully at his home in his sleep the morning of March 17, 2018. He went home to be with the Lord, where he’s been reunited with his son, David, and more than likely, they’re tinkering on a couple of old cars.
Albert was a 60-year member of Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was Corporal in the Army and served in the Korean War. He worked as a butcher at Super Dollar Markets and several other grocery stores. He retired from Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport.
Albert was an avid Nascar fan and he loved to travel. He and his wife traveled with Greene Coach to all 50 states with the exception of Alaska, with his favorite being Hawaii.
Known as “Papaw,” Albert loved spending time with his great grandchildren. He especially depended on Noah these last few months for helping him get dressed and pushing his wheelchair. Their birthdays were just four days apart.
