

He worked as a mechanic at Rambo Tractor for over 50 years.
Mr. Bishop was a Christian and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
He was a member of the Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department for many years
He loved his family and his many friends and neighbors. He enjoyed working on tractors,
farming, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include a son and special daughter-in-law: Rex and Linda Bishop; grandsons: Johnny Shelton of North Carolina, Ronnie Bishop and wife, Linda, of California, Rick Bishop of Greeneville; a step granddaughter: Danielle Casteel and husband, Roger; two great grandsons: Steven Bishop and Aaron Bishop; a great granddaughter: Kayla Bishop; step great grandsons: Skyler Casteel and Chase Casteel; a step great granddaughter: Zoe Casteel; sister-in-law: Betty Hensley; brother-in-law: Jack Mercer; several nieces and nephews; special friend: Steve Casteel.
He was the son of the late Jess and Ethel Bishop and was preceded in death by his wife, Wanza
Bishop; a daughter, Shirley Jones; a sister, Wavil Franklin; brothers, Woodrow Bishop, Tommy
Tweed, Roland Bishop and Edison Bishop.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Mt. Tabor U M Church.
Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw and Rev. Lynn Mercer will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Camp Creek Vol. Fire Dept. and members of Mt. Tabor U M Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
