Mrs. Armstrong retired from Donaldson Corp.
She was a member of Christian Heritage Church and East Greene Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Rev. Jasper and Maude Smith Fillers and was preceded in death by a son, Terry Cogburn; a brother, Dickie Fillers; and a sister, Linda Knight.
Survivors include three grandchildren: Keri Leigh-Ann Cogburn, Thomas David Cogburn, and Hali Bowman, all of Greene County; two stepgrandchildren: Josh Stowe of Greene County and Cherish Stowe Benton of Greenville, S.C.; five great-grandchildren: Preston Cogburn, Trinity Cogburn, and Jalen Stowe, all of Greene County, and Chloe Benton and Deana Benton, both of Greenville (SC); five sisters and brothers-in-law: Ann and Stanley Tipton, Nancy and Roger Gross, Janice and Dennis Tullock, Robin and Tommy Malone, and Martha and Gerald Tarlton, all of Greene County; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, whom she raised: Scottie Melton, and his wife, Joanna; a number of special friends, including: Dorothy Davis and Floyd Darnell; and special friends of the family: Sheena Paxton, fiancée of David Cogburn, and Abby Metcalf, fiancée of Josh Stowe, both of Greene County.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Anthony Payne and the Rev. Gene Swatzell will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in Carter's Station Cemetery at Albany.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Caris Health Care and Hospice and her "many church friends."
