Barbara Houston Arwood

Barbara Houston Arwood, age 84, of Cedar Avenue., Greeneville, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side on August 7, 2024. She was a waitress for many years and was loved by her customers. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and will be greatly missed by all. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and a witness for the Lord to many. She attended Greeneville First Church of God.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sharon Johnson and Debbie (Bobby) Ottinger; a special granddaughter: Candice Ottinger Pricenor; special great grandchildren: twins, Khloe and Mason Henderson, Keanna Ottinger, Kaisen Pricenor; siblings: Phyllis (Vito) Dewicki, Charles Broyles, Guy (Mary) Broyles, Becky (Jimmy) Lane, Terry (Gina) Broyles, Jerry (Star) Broyles, Fredna Peterson, Karen (Preston) Large; brother-in-law: Ronnie Rice, sister-in-law: Joyce Houston, and extended family: Roger and Wendy Whaley and family and Barbara Hicks and family and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by special neighbors, Jerry Ottinger and Geneva Walton.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Arwood; a special son: Randy Houston; parents: Guy Broyles and Ina Broyles Cutshall; a special sister: Nancy Rice; son-in-law: Rick Johnson and her best friend: Mary Lee Riddle.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral following at 7:00 pm in the chapel. Pastor Nathan Leasure and Pastor Ralph Shipley will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:00 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Ruth Rudd.

Pallbearers will be: Mason Henderson, Ronnie Rice, Rick Broyles, Tony Lane, Gregg Bowman, and Barry Starette.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Dewicki, Phil Hicks, and James Fillers.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Theo Hensley and Dr. Steven Prince.
