Barbara Shanks

Barbara Allen Shanks, age 83, of Limestone went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Mrs. Shanks was a homemaker, gardener and attended Limestone Free Wil Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, family, many friends and her beloved pets.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Johnnie and Jackie Shanks; two granddaughters: Rachel Shanks and Rebecca Amburgey (Troy) followed by her great-grandchildren: Colton, Lacey, Lindsey, Eve, Lillie and Noah; along with her brother: Carl Gentry and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shanks was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Lee Shanks; her late parents: Boston and Ruth Gentry and her brother: Bob Gentry.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00 am at Urbana Cemetery in Limestone, TN. Pastor Tim Broyles will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be: Troy Amburgey, Gary Gentry, Jeff Gunter, Colton Coomer, Kevin Adams and John Barnette.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Limestone Free Will Baptist Building Fund, 3789 Old State Route 34, Limestone, TN 37681.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her dear friend; Mary Elsie Corby.
