

She had lived with her nephew Sammy and Sandy Malone prior to moving to Life Care Center of Greeneville.
She was retired from Laughlin Memorial Hospital “Tea Room” after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Eastside Independent Baptist Church.
Survivors include a special sister: Violet Miller Ricker of Greeneville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Christine Miller, Judy and Terry Douthat, Joe Smith, Wayne and Mitzi Smith, Joy Smith, Sam and Shirley Smith, all of Greeneville, and Jim and Vina Rogers of Indiana; a very special sister-in-law: Helen MacLeod of Newport; several nieces and nephews: Kelly Southerland of Kingsport, Sammy and Sandy Malone, Judy Haney, Steve and Sara Cornwell, Dennis and Kathy Morgan, Bill and Sandra Garber, Jenna Ayers, Mike and Cindy Miller, Steve and Sharon Harmon, Mike and Tammy Metcalf, Debbie and Charles Snapp, Allen Beach, Carney and Debbie Miller, all of Greeneville, Billy Joe and Michelle Malone of Florida, Janet and John Murphy of North Carolina, and Christine Miller-Grobe of Illinois; special great nieces and great nephews: Stephanie Mitchell, Mark and Angie Malone, Linda and Gary Rector, Alex Miller, Shannon and Lindsey Rollins, Lance and Katherine Fezell, Daveen Dotson, Chasta Tarlton, Denise Morgan, and Donna Ellis, all of Greeneville, Jason Haney of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer Murphy and Christopher Murphy of North Carolina, Alexa Grobe and Christian Grobe of Illinois, and Dusty Malone of Florida, Stevie Shelton, Nabriska Shelton, Stevie Miller, Shelia Miller, and Kathy Pilley; several great-great nieces and great-great nephews: including special great-great nephews: Noah Teaster and Matthew Malone of Greeneville, Spencer Southerland of Kingsport, and a special great-great niece: Abigail Gosnell; special neighbors: Bobby and JoAnn Bowers, Ralph and Betty Cogdill, Ruth McAmis, Leonard and Carolyn Brooks, her special caregivers at Life Care Center of Greeneville (Birch Wing), and her special friend at Life Care: Helen Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Smith; three sisters: Bobbie Malone, Millie Southerland, and Lois Beach; and three brothers: Jake Miller, Jimmy Miller, and Frankie Miller.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. David Fox will officeate. Interment will follow in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Malone, John Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Tommy Armitage, Charles Snapp, and Jimmy Southerland.
Honorary pallbearers will be neighbors and employees of Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at KIser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
