

He retired from Brock Industries in Kingsport after 47 years. He enjoyed his cattle and working on the farm with his son. He also grew a garden that he readily shared with friends and neighbors. He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by all.
Mr. Bailey was a member and trustee of Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church on the Horton Highway.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being around his friends and family. He especially loved his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years: Betty Joe Morelock Bailey; two sons and daughters-in-law: Tim and Donna Bailey and Tony and Pam Bailey of the Pine Grove Community; grandchildren and spouses: Vanessa and Harry Scott, Michael and Breezy Whipp, Toby Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Talley Bailey, and Turner Bailey; great grandchildren: Kyle Scott, Brady Scott, Makayla Whipp, Daniel Whipp, and Isaac Whipp; sisters and brothers-in-law: Iva Mae Brown, Ina Matthews, Faye and Donnie Hilton, all of Greeneville, Helen Bible of Morristown, Betty and Billy Johnson of Bybee, Tennessee, Sue and Pete Morgan of Jefferson City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl and Dorothy Bailey of Baileyton, Paul and Inez Bailey of Kingsport, Walter and Wilma Bailey of Rogersville, Steve and Wanda Bailey of Fall Branch; sister-in-law and spouse: Cookie and Ray Barkley of Greeneville; brother-in-law: Bill Laws of Greeneville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Graden and Norma Estepp Bailey and was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jake and Edith Morelock; and two sisters-in-law: Wanda Hughes and Norma “Tincy” Laws.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for the services.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Waycaster and Rev. Barry Reed officiating.
Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery on Horton Highway.
His pallbearers are Bobby McAmis, Marty Jackson, Steve Starnes, Jerry Crawford, Darrell Wilcox, Bob Tate, Ray Barkley, and Charles Skeen.
Bill Laws, Gale Benton, Richard Jones, David Bright, Scott Edwards, and members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
