
She was a farmer.
Ms. Hensley was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Alec and Mary Jane Hensley.
Her family states, "Bonnie was an avid farmer who loved all aspects of the farm life. She spent many years, as she grew older, being a caregiver for families in Greene County. She was most remembered when she was no longer able to work on the outside as 'Miss Bonnie' who had a special seat at the local market."
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Trula Shelton, Golden Steele, and Pearl Paxton; three brothers: Reeve Hensley, Earl Hensley, and Raymond Hensley; and a nephew, Billy Steele.
Survivors include her nephews: Woodrow Shelton, Mark Shelton, Leonard Shelton, and Jim Steel; a "special" nephew: Bobby Steele; her special nieces and caregivers: Linda Morelock and Mary L. Shelton; two nieces: Diane Brite and Barbara Hund; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a very "dear" friend: Fuschia Shelton, who also helped with her care.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dwayne Steele will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in Oakdale Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her great-nephews: Anthony Morelock, Michael Morelock, Billy Gosnell, Tommy Ward, and Justin Williams, and her great-great-nephew: Jordon Steele.
Honorary pallbearers her special friends: David Ryder and Gene Johnson, the staff of Durham Hensley Care and Rehab Center, the third floor staff at Takoma Regional Hospital, Dr. John Shaw, Dr. Jose Garza, and Dr. Thomas Beckner.
