

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker.
She was a graduate of Mosheim High School and attended design school in Chicago. She also attended UT Knoxville Department of Home Economics and studied fashion, design, and textiles. She loved art, music, and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and was a fantastic cook.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Dr. Thomas Brown, MD and wife, Rebecca, of Greeneville and Samuel W. Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter: Annemarie Brown of Greeneville; and a brother and sister-in-law: Tommy and Deloris Steele of Greene County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ralph Brown; parents: Hogain and Lena Ruth Mahoney Steele; and a brother: Samuel Steele, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday at Brown Springs Cemetery with Rev. Richard Long officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
