He was a retired employee of Greene Farmers Co-op.
He is survived by a daughter: Jeanine Franklin; two sons: Shawn Brooks and Jason Brooks; seven grandchildren: Heith Franklin, Brooks Franklin, Alyssa Burley, Avree Brooks, Paisley Trembley, Amber Brooks and Ava Brooks; five great grandchildren: Macey Franklin, Asa Franklin, T. K. Franklin, Jayden Merriweather, and Bishop Merriweather; two great great grandchildren: Rylen Fillers and Ensley Story; brother: Lynn Brooks (Darlene); sister-in-law: Carolyn Brooks; and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew: Randy Brooks.
He was the son of the late Harold Brooks and Carrie Sams Brooks. He was preceded in death by two sons: Charles Wayne Brooks Jr. and Marc Edward Brooks and a brother: Leonard Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jim Fillers officiating.
Interment will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Brooks, Brian Brooks, Heith Franklin, Colton Story, Teddy Fillers and Frankie Seaton.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Staff and employees of Life Care Center of Greeneville.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
