Mr. Greer was of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed his love for horses and caring for them. His dog, Smokie, was the pride of his life. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and motorcycles with his brothers and friends.
Survivors include his daughter: Rebecca Major and her husband, Eric, with the U.S. Army, stationed in Afghanistan; a son: Lucas Greer and his fiancée, Anna Gordon, both of Greeneville; granddaughter: Alisa Major; parents: Cecil and Fannie Greer of Greeneville; grandmother: Sylvia Shelton of Greeneville; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Alvin and Sheila Greer, Terry and Lois Greer, Bobby and Amanda Gree, and Dustin and Jessica Greer, all of Greene County; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and special friends: Randy and Kay Vanover, Duke and Nancy Nelson, Dale Aarp, Mark Gunter, Johnny and Debra Hall, Dave Buckner, Ricky and Rita Darnell, and Melvin and Betty Harrison.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following the visitation, the funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Gene Swatzell and Rev. Jay Hugh Jennings will officiate.
Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Old Mountain Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be his loving friends and neighbors.
His co-workers at Vulcan Materials will serve as honorary pallbearers.
