

She was retired from Sprint (telephone company) after 38 years of service.
Mrs. Fortner was a member of First Baptist Church of Greeneville.
Survivors include a daughter: Shelia Kay; brother: Keith Kilday; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Linda Kilday, Mildred Kilday, Patty Fortner, Louise Shelton, Tommie Southerland; nieces and nephews: Myra Shelton, Kimberly Shelton, Cindy Gilliken, David Kilday and Jerry Fortner.
She was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Patterson Kilday and was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Fortner; a sister, Doris Jean Kilday; brothers: Robert, Eddie and Jack Kilday; nephew, Steve Kilday; and a brother-in-law, Lyle Fortner.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. David Green officiating.
Interment will be 11 am Saturday, GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10 am at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Don Miles, Rick Parvin, Russel Ooten, Noah Southerland, David Kilday, Charles Crum, and Gene Gaby.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Maynard Austin, Dr. Joe Austin, Dr. Stephen Reed, Robert Ward, Judy Bible, Teresa Douthat, Don Hamilton and Sam Miller.
