

He was a milk hauler and farmer.
Mr. Collins was a member of Cedar Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was previously a member of the Deacon Board.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, a member of VFW Post #1990, and was previously on the board of directors for the Greene County Co-Op.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Kay Collins; a sister and brother-in-law: Brenda and Byrd Malone of Greeneville; a brother-in-law: Bill Ottinger of Parrottsville; two nephews and their spouses: Michael Ottinger of Newport and Tim and Sonya Solomon of Greeneville; three nieces and their spouses: Myra and John Darnell of Greeneville, Tammy and Paul Jones of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Kenya and Burke Bell of Jacksonville, Florida; great nieces and great nephews: Sarah Freshour, Amy Blake, Kelsey Darnell, Devyn Darnell, Sander Jones, Happy Bell, Alec Jones, Adalynn Jones; and special caregiver: Rita Farley.
He was a son of the late Bruce and Lavon Seaton Collins and was preceded in death by two sisters: Imogene Collins Solomon and Linda Collins; and a nephew: David Solomon.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Harrell Cobb
will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Shipley, Dennis Shipley, Mike Ottinger, Ted Humphreys, Curtis Wilhoit, Craig Fillers, Freddie Solomon, and Johnny Powers.
Honorary pallbearers will be his friends and neighbors and members of Cedar Creek Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Greeneville-Greene County Honor Guard.
