

He was a field service representative with Dresser/Roots Corp. in Connersville, IN where he retired in 1994 and had been a consultant to the company until his death.
Mr. Parker was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and was veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
His family stated, “He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.”
Survivors include his wife: Ellen Sue Parker; children and their spouses: Rick and Debra Legard of Marshall, NC; Debbie and Bill West of Jacksonville, FL; Linda and Terry Kidman of Roanoke, VA; Brenda Legard of Burlington, NJ; Sandra Parker Moore of Nashville; grandchildren: Crystal Williams, Susie Burns, Michael Colgan, Sarah West, Amy Colgan, Brian Legard, Nicole Kidman; great grandchildren: Chelsea Williams, Tyler Burns, Landyn Kidman
sister and brother in law:Martha and Tony Witt of Homassa Springs, FL; nephews: Mike Witt of Indiana; Darrell Witt of Homassa Springs, FL; brother in law and wife: Joe and Joan Shortt of Sevierville, TN.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, in the Kiser Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Marvin Dobson officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Terry Kidman, Brian Legard, Michael Colgan, Robert Coceano, Michael Witt, and Darrell Witt. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James R. McKinney, Dr. Wahid Hanna, Judy Johnson, Dr. Mark McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
