

Clifford S. Fillers, age 78, of the Horse Creek Community, passed away at his home on the morning of March 20th, 2024. He worked at Meco for 38 years. He was of the Christian faith and was longing to meet his Saviour at his passing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day…”
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol Sue Fillers; a son, James (Jimmy) Fillers; grandchildren: Josh (Lindsey) Fillers, Paige (Daniel) Large, Chelsea (Derek) Sams, Jordan (Ashley) Fillers, Justin Fillers, Cody Fillers; great grandchildren: Odin Fillers, Eli King, Parker Large, Crowder Large, Leah King, Campbell Sams and Charli Sams; daughter-in-law: Celease Fillers; brother, Ray Fillers; sisters: Jean Rice and Dean Mitchell; sisters-in-law: Diane Fillers, Pat (Bob) Parvin; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Gertie Mae Fillers; sons: Stacey Fillers, Brian Fillers; daughters-in-law: Darlene Fillers and Annette Fillers; brother, Charles Fillers; sister, Margaret Jennings; sisters-in-law: Geneva Gray, Donna Fillers; brothers-in-law: Luke Jennings, Homer Blake, Reuben Rice, William Mitchell and Conard Gray.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will he held on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Union Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Buster Shelton and Rev. Phillip Shelton will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Derek Sams, Josh Fillers, Mike Gray, Adam Johnson, Bobby Young and Joe Jennings.
The family would like to thank the healthcare team that took care of Clifford throughout his illness: Dr. Theo Hensley, Dr. Jeff Farrow, Dr. Maynard Austin, and Amedisys Hospice, particularly his loving nurse, Rachel McNeese.
