She was a long time member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church and attended as long as her health permitted.
Colleen accepted Christ early in life. A woman of deep faith and a devoted Christian, she will be remembered by all who knew her as a strong prayer warrior, a kind and loving wife, mother, friend and neighbor, who lived out her days in quietness and confidence in her Lord and Savior.
Survivors include her loving and devoted son: Richard A. Greene II (Richie), the joy of her life; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Greene Stephenson of Greeneville and Janice Hawkins of Mountain City; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a loving and dedicated friend, Julia Peters.
She was the daughter of the late Wiley F. Hawkins and Vada Carrie Neatherly Hawkins of Mountain City, Tennessee and was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Richard Arvil Greene; brother: Dayton Hawkins of Mountain City; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Oscar T. and Carrie Tilson Greene; brother-in-law: J.N. Stephenson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Evelyn and Ernest Campbell; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Klon and Frances Greene and Brumley and Jane Greene.
The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Tammy Greene and Rev. John Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kipp Stephenson, Riley Stephenson, Daniel Greene, Randy Campbell, Charles Click, Dustin Click, Corey Click, and Elmer Tweed.
Honorary pallbearers are her friends in Mt. Hebron’s Men of Faith and Ladies’ Circles.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mosca and staff; Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff; Dr. John Boys and staff; the nurses and staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice; the nurses and therapists of Advanced Home Care; the doctors, nurses, and staff of Laughlin Memorial Hospital; and all of the dedicated caregivers who provided home care.
