

He worked in maintenance and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife: Alma Ruth Horton; daughter: Deborah Lynn Horton Myers; of Greeneville; son: Carson Burnette Horton of Greeneville; grandchildren: Bradley Ryan Myers, Christopher Zane Horton, Charity Leshae Horton, Marcia Dawn Horton, and Terri Lynne Horton, all of Greeneville; five great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth Lee and Inge Elizabeth Horton of Greeneville; and three sisters and a brother-in-law: Betty Jo Horton of Duffield, Virginia, Genneda Ruth Dalton of Knoxville, and Pasty Ann and Floyd Pennington of Pennington Gap,Virginia.
He was the son of the late Ballard James and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts Horton and was preceded in death by a brother, Carson Burnette Horton; and sisters, Wilma Jean Horton and Nellie Sue Horton Davis.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. His nephew, Edward Horton, will officiate. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military service.
